Last time around, Tim showed us a couple of his most trusted and “buggy” caddis adult patterns, so in this next class he wan’t to complete the caddis life cycle by showing us how to tie a couple tried-and-true nymph and spinner patterns. Corded Cased Caddis
Hook: Lightning Strike JF2, size 14.
Bead: Gold slotted tungsten bead, 7/64”.
Thread: Fluorescent green, UTC 70 Denier.
Abdomen: Hare’s ear Antron dubbing.

A.K. Best Spent Caddis
Hook: Your favorite dry-fly hook (here, a Fulling Mill 5050), size 16.
Thread: Tan, 6/0 or 70-denier.
Body: Tan beaver dubbing.
Wing: Bleached Hungarian partridge or hen mallard breast feather.
Hackle: Brownish grizzly, trimmed along the bottom.
