Hook: Heavy-wire, curved-shank scud hook, sizes 16 to 12. (The author prefers this fly tied in size 16.) Thread: Olive 6/0 (140 denier). Abdomen: Tying thread. Rib: Fine gold or copper wire. Thorax: Gray rabbit dubbing, but you may substitute any fine gray dubbing. Note: This is one of Brian Chan’s patterns. Brian also has a newer version tied with pheasant-tail fibers as the thorax and a raffia abdomen. |
