Perla Stone Fly Creeper

Hook: 3X-long nymph hook, sizes 10 to 4.
Thread: Yellow 6/0 (140 denier).
Underbody: Two lengths of thick lead wire. Bind one length of wire on each side of the hook shank.
Tails: Amber goose biots.
Abdomen: A latex strip colored amber with a permanent mark. Make the markings, as on the fly in
    the photograph, using a dark brown permanent marker.
Thorax and legs: Amber rabbit guard hairs and underfur. The author used natural tannish-gray rabbit
    dubbing on the fly in the photo.
Wing cases: Latex sheeting, cut to shape and colored with a black permanent marking pen.
Antennae: Amber goose biots.
Note: Poul Jorgenson developed a whole series of stonefly nymphs tied in the form of the Perla Stone
    Fly Creeper; he simply varied the coloring and hook size to imitate everything from the gargantuan
    western salmonfly to the little brown stoneflies that hatch in the East at the beginning of each
    trout season.
