Gray Drake Foam-Wing Spinner

Hook: Tiemco 5210, size to match the natural insect.
Thread: Gray 8/0 (70 denier).
Tail: Grizzly hackle fibers.
Body: Fine gray dubbing.
Rib (optional): A piece of the tying thread.
Wing: Grizzly hackle clipped on the top and
    bottom to form the spinner wings, or a piece of light dun Z-Lon.
Wing case: Gray closed-cell foam.
Note: Spent spinner imitations are very effective on selective trout.
    These flies are hard to see, however, and sparse patterns don’t
    always float well. The Foam-Wing Spinner addresses these
    shortcomings. The foam wing case folded over the thorax adds
    buoyancy, and the solid material makes it reasonably visible. The
    extra flotation is especially helpful on larger mayfly imitations.
