Thread: Black 8/0 (70 denier).
Hook: 4X- or 6X-long streamer hook, your choice of size.
Tail: Red feather.
Body: Flat silver tinsel.
Throat: Red hackle fibers.
Wing: Golden pheasant crest.
A bit of history: The Summer Gold, which is a variation on the original
    Maynard’s Marvel, was created by Chet Dubriske. It is still widely
    used in spite of the expensive full golden pheasant wing.
