Jak’s Gold-Ribbed Hare’s Ear

Hook: Long-shank nymph hook, size 6 to 2.
Thread: Dark brown 6/0 (140 denier).
Tail: Hen pheasant tail fibers.
Body: Peacock-colored Antron dubbing.
Rib: Narrow brown Swannundaze or carpet thread.
Wing case: Mottled turkey wing or brown raffia.
Legs: Brown soft hackle hen pheasant fibers.
Note: The Gold-Ribbed Hare’s Ear is a versatile, 
all-purpose nymph that almost all tiers know how to make.When tied in sizes 6 to 2, it is a good 
imitation of larger mayfly nymphs, including green drakes. This is the author’s version of this famous pattern.
