Sar-Mul-Mac Hook: Tiemco 611S or equivalent, size 3/0 to 5/0. Thread: White, Danville Fly Master Plus or Flat Waxed Nylon. Weight: Lead wire. Tail: White bucktail topped with 10 to 15 strands each of silver and pearl Flashabou. Wing: Six white saddle hackles curving inward. Underwing: Medium bunch of white bucktail, half as long as the tail. Overwing: Pearl gray bucktail. Shoulder: 15 to 20 strands of pink or rose bucktail, topped with six to eight strands of wine red Krystal Flash. Add one long grizzly saddle hackle on each side. Flash: 15 to 20 strands each of silver Flashabou and multicolored Krystal Flash. Head top: A loop of medium gray chenille tied in and then carried forward. Gills: Small, red chenille. Head: Medium white chenille tied in behind the hook eye, wrapped back to gills and then forward. Eyes: Yellow and black solid plastic eyes, post removed. Or 3-D stick-ons epoxied in place. |
