Hook: Daiichi 1150 or a similar scud hook, sizes 16 to 10.
Head: 3/32- or 1/8-inch-diameter gold bead; use a 5/64-inch diameter gold
bead on smaller flies.
Thread: Black 8/0 (70 denier).
Body: Yellow Vinyl Rib colored with an olive permanent marker, natural
gray ostrich herl, smoky-olive Sow-Scud Dubbing or a comparable dirty
olive-gray dubbing, and gold Mylar tinsel.
Legs: Pearl Krystal Flash.
Hackle: Hungarian partridge back feather.
Collar: One peacock herl.
