Seatrout Special

Hook: Mustad 3407, size 2.
Thread: Red 6/0 (140 denier) at the end of the body;
black 6/0 (140 denier) to finish the head.
Body: Copper Mylar braid.
Wing: Yellow bucktail with strands of gold Krystal Flash.
Hackle: Bright red.
Note: The Seatrout Special was the single seatrout
pattern Lefty Kreh included in his book, Saltwater
Fly Patterns. The Seatrout Special was originated by
Tom Lentz. The Seatrout Special is a bright attractor
pattern. It is very lightweight and excellent for
fishing skinny water. The hackle makes it fall to the
water softly. Adding a weed guard wouldn’t be
a bad idea.
