Hook: Tiemco TMC2312, sizes 12 to 6.
Thread: Black, brown, or yellow 6/0 (140 denier).
Body: 2-millimeter-thick closed-cell foam, colors to match the bodies of the natural insects.
Wing: Organza ribbon, colors to match the wings of the natural insects. Organza is used to wrap presents and dress up flower arrangements. Look for organza ribbon in craft and fabric stores. Avoid any with wire edges.
Legs: Medium Live Rubber or your favorite thin rubber legs, colors to match the legs of the real insects.
Back flap: 2-millimeter-thick closed-cell foam, colors to match the natural insects.
Antennae: Rubber hackle, colors to match the insects.
Strike indicator: A thin strip of yellow closed-cell foam.
Additional stuff: Gel or gap-filling superglue, Flexament, sacrificial tying scissors (foam is surprisingly abrasive and will dull good scissors), large Renzetti Stonefly Nymph Wing Burner, cigarette lighter, relatively large self-threading sewing needle, and smooth-jawed needle-nose pliers.
