Hook: Daiichi 2220 or equivalent, sizes 6 to 2.
Thread: 6/0 (140 denier), white.
Tail: White arctic-fox fur.
Body: Pearl Estaz.
Hackle: White or gray schlappen. Before winding the hackle, tie
olive, blue, or peacock Mirror Flash or Flashabou sticking forward
from the hook eye. Before each turn of hackle, pull back
several strands and bind them down with the hackle. This
spreads the flash material in a loose wing along the length of
the hook.
