Rattle Rouser

Hook: Mustad 34011, size 2.
Thread: Chartreuse 6/0 (140 denier).
Body: A hollow Mylar tube, your choice of color. Insert a small rattle in the tube.
Wing: Bucktail with strands of Flashabou or Flashabou Accent, your choice of colors.

Note: Sound can sometimes scare the fish, but sometimes it will attract them. The easiest way to add sound is to incorporate a rattle in a fly. The author like the rattles made by Woodie’s Rattlers, but your local fly shop probably sticks a variety of fly-tying rattles. You may add dumbbell eyes to create a heavier fly for fishing deep.
