Clouser Deep Minnow

Hook: Mustad 3407, sizes 4 to 1/0.
Thread: Size 6/0 (140 denier), your choice of colors.
Wing: Bucktail and strands of Flashabou or Flashabou Accent in your choice of colors.
Eyes: 1/100 to 1/36 ounce lead or brass dumbbells.

Note: The Clouser Minnow revolutionized saltwater fly fishing. Tie this pattern with the usual bucktail wing, as a Half ‘n Half with a hackle tail, or with a synthetic wing to create a fly up to 8 or 10 inches long. Let your imagination and the fishing conditions dictate the type of Clouser Minnows you tie. This example is fairly fancy with a peacock-herl topping.
