Elk-Hair Caddis

Hook: Light-wire, 1X-long or regular length dry-fly hook, sizes 16 to 10.
Thread: Tan 8/0 (70 denier) to 3/0 (210 denier).
Body: Hare’s-mask dubbing, but you can substitute buoyant natural or synthetic dubbing in tan, olive, green, brown, or black.
Hackle: Brown.
Rib: Fine gold wire.
Wing: Pale or bleached elk hair.
